Idul Adha In Indonesia

Menara Bahrul Ulum

Menara Bahrul Ulum

Idul Adha is time for meeting with my whole family.

Idul adha was about to come.  It was two days before Idul Adha. I was fasting as almost moslem did. I also prepared to go to my hometown in Sidoarjo. I was in my home two days before Idul Adha day. When Maghrib came,  Takbir was shouted everywhere and the street was crowded by children who was wandering around the town by bringing the candle made from bamboo. It was called ‘obor’ which used gas oil to light the fire.

I was interested to ride my motorcycle with my mother to see how was ‘takbiran’ hold this year. Was it as crowded as last year? So I kept wandering around and spoke with my mother. It was precious time for me and my mother to speak a lot since I didn’t go home for long time. I guess my mother missed me so much. Thus, she asked me to buy any snacks or drinks I wanted. She also asked my daily activities in Malang. In fact, I also missed my mother so much. Since I was in college, I didn’t have time to go home often. I got busy with the assignments I got in the classes and other things.

The next morning, sholat Idul Adha was held in the mosque which is near with my home. I went to the mosque with my mother, my father, my brother and my sister. I felt so happy that we could gather in this valuable time. I shouted takbir along the way to praise the happiness to Allah. I really thanked that I was given a chance to meet Idul Adha this year.
